Day 67: Finally Fall

The twenty-seventh of November 2012 will enter history as the landmark day when autumn finally arrived to Jaén. Just two days before, on Sunday, when I was returning from the swimming pool only in my hooded sweatshirt and with wet hair, blinking against the blazing sun, I wouldn’t believe that such a thing was even possible. But here we have it, the yellow and red leaves on the pavements (although it was hard to snap pictures of them, because the diligent street cleaners were sweeping them away like crazy), the breath that turns into vapour in front of your face, the crisp air, the bare trees. It made me feel almost like at home. And in the spirit of autumn I bought some chestnut marmalade for our breakfasts croissants and toasts, yum. Now the Christmas mood can truly commence!

Deň 67: Jednoznačne jeseň

Dvadsiaty siedmy november 2012 vstúpi do dejín ako pamätný deň kedy konečne prišla do Jaén jeseň. Iba pred dvoma dňami, v nedeľu, keď som sa vracala z plavárne oblečená iba v mikine s kapucňou a s mokrými vlasmi a žmurkala pred ostrým slnkom, by som nebola verila, že také niečo je vôbec možné. Ale je to tu priatelia, žlté a červené listy na chodníkoch (aj keď ich bolo ťažké odfotiť kvôli usilovným smetiarom, ktorý ich zametali ako zmyslov zbavení), dych, ktorý sa Vám pred tvárou mení na paru, ľadový vzduch, holé stromy. Cítila som sa takmer ako doma. A aby som zachovala túto jesennú náladu, kúpila som nám k raňajkovým croissantom a hriankam pohár gaštanového džemu, mňam. Tak a teraz môže vianočná nálada začať už naozaj!
