Entonces...

Hey everyone! After three months in Andalusia I am back home and as the experience of living in the south of Spain was very interesting indeed, I thought it would be nice to sum it all up in a post. And as I love compiling lists, I summarised my life in Jaén not just in one list, but in two of them!

Reasons to hate Andalusia:

1. no calefacción! 
2. attitude: people are often impolite, impatient, unhelpful, don’t care about others and refuse to try to communicate and understand 
3. nothing works (the shops are always closed, the siesta is never-ending and there are queues everywhere) 
4. streets full of dog poo 
5. no snow 
6. awful diary products (they don’t have fresh milk!) 
7. the staff at the university library in Jaén 
8. the urban buses of Jaén 
9. restaurants open at 8 in the evening 
10. traffic (and crossing at the red light) 
11. there is no cinema, no theatre, no orchestra in Jaén 

Reasons to love Andalusia:

1. olives!!! 
2. beautiful landscapes, marvellous nature 
3. sunshine 
4. architecture, narrow streets, colourful facades
5. history, clash of all things Arabic, Christian and Jewish 
6. El Corte Ingles and its sales 
7. farmers’ markets: fresh fruit, vegetables, seafood 
8. tapas 
9. sweets 
10. Spanish fashion (it’s not only Mango and Zara) 
11. Spanish language classes with Alicia 
12. the collections of books at the university library in Jaén 
13. sports facilities 

Čauko všetci! Po troch mesiacoch v Andalúzii som späť doma, a keďže žiť na juhu Španielska bol zážitok vskutku zaujímavý, rozmýšľala som, že by bolo fajn nejak celé to obdobie zhrnúť v jednom príspevku. A pretože som posadnutá písaním zoznamov, zosumarizovala som svoj život v Jaén nie v jednom zozname, ale rovno v dvoch!

Veci, kvôli ktorým Andalúziu neznášam:

1. nemajú calefacción! 
2. prístup: ľudia sú často nezdvorilí, netrpezlivý, nepomáhajú si, kašlú na ostatných a odmietajú snažiť sa komunikovať a porozumieť 
3. nič nefunguje (obchody sú stále zatvorené, siesta je nekonečná a všade samé rady) 
4. ulice plné psích kakancov 
5. žiaden sneh 
6. hnusné mliečne výrobky (nemajú čerstvé mlieko!) 
7. zamestnanci univerzitnej knižnice v Jaén 
8. mestská hromadná doprava v Jaén 
9. reštaurácie otvárajú o 8mej večer 
10. doprava (a prechádzanie na červenú) 
11. v Jaén nie je kino, divadlo, ani filharmónia 

Veci, vďaka ktorým Andalúzia stojí za to:

1. olivy!!! 
2. krásna krajina, úchvatná príroda 
3. slnko 
4. architektúra, úzke uličky, pestré fasády 
5. dejiny, stred arabského sveta s kresťanským a židovským 
6. El Corte Ingles a tamojšie výpredaje 
7. trhy a tržnice: čerstvé ovocie, zelenina, plody mora 
8. tapas 
9. sladkosti 
10. Španielska móda (nie je to len Mango a Zara!) 
11. hodiny španielčiny s Aliciou 
12. zbierka kníh v univerzitnej knižnici v Jaén 
13. športoviská
